A historic win for Alex Yoong and A1 Team Malaysia in China today
Alex Yoong, today, on the 2nd of April in the year 2006, gave the Proton sponsored A1 Team Malaysia a historic lights to chequered flag maiden victory in the China A1GP Sprint race in a cool and calculated manner.

He extended his lead in the 15 lap race from 1.5s in lap 1 to win by more than 9s from Great Britain's Darren Manning without any relief for the chasing pack.

Winner in USA, Mexico with Salvador Duran on board pressured Great Britain all the way to the finish for third.

All Malaysia will be watching with great anticipation for a repeat win from Yoong in the one hour long 30 lap Feature race which will start in an hour's time.
